Our Standards
How HVAC Pro ensures every technician is licensed, insured, and safe to work in your home.
We verify an active Alberta Journeyman Certificate or registered apprenticeship in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or Gasfitting. HVAC is a compulsory trade in Alberta — no uncertified technicians are permitted.
We review a current Certificate of Insurance showing Commercial General Liability coverage of $2,000,000 minimum. Certificates must name HVAC Pro as an additional insured.
If the contractor accepts deposits or progress payments, we verify a valid Prepaid Contracting License from Service Alberta. This protects you under the Consumer Protection Act.
We pull a WCB Alberta "Letter of Good Standing" dated within 30 days of application. This confirms all workers are covered under Workers' Compensation and the company is in good standing.
All technicians must provide a Police Information Check before accepting jobs. This ensures the safety and security of your home and family.
For 2026 compliance, we verify that technicians have completed A2L refrigerant handling training as required under updated federal regulations for new refrigerant types.
